6/17/12 6pm - Reached New London Harbor ferry.

Finally made it through Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.  Arrived in New London at 5pm (Google gave incorrect directions... Exit 78 does NOT exist, it was actually 83..   lost an hour driving around like a madman).  When I finally made it to the correct port, the ferry was booked up till 8pm..  had to wait till the 7pm ferry, which I managed to squeeze onto.  1 1/2 hours later, I'm on Long Island for the last stretch home.

Pulling into the Orient Point dock.

6/17/12 11:30am - Rest stop somewhere on 95.

4 1/2 hours into my ride home and I'm STILL in Maine...it's a big state.  Each rest stop is exactly the same except for the giant dog pictures (always looking in a different direction).

6/17/12 7am - Packed up and heading out... 450 miles of road await.

Woke up as early as possible (6am) to head out. It took about an hour to magically consolidate everything onto the bike and check out.

6/16/12 6pm - Dinner at Stewman's Lobster Pound

Very good lobster; I was seated on the end of the pier with a great view of the ocean / islands. I got my lobster in less than a minute.  Cool place.

View from my table.

6/16/12 4pm - Cadillac Mountain Auto road (again)

It was a fun road on the motorcycle, I had to do it again while I was here.

People were posing with this bird...you could practically pet him (all he wanted was some food).

6/16/12 3pm - Thunder Hole...

Sounds like the name...every time the waves roll in, they crash into the hole and make a sound like thunder.

6/16/12 1pm - Lunch at Jordan Pond restaurant

Had an awesome lunch of lobster bisque, 2 popovers, and handmade vanilla ice cream. Easily the best restaurant in Acadia National Park, but boy, was it busy. I wanted to eat outside but would've had an hour wait, so I opted for a window seat.

6/16/12 11:30am - Cadillac Mountain Auto Road (clouds finally starting to break)

A great road for the bike, lots of fun and a few good curves. Views were great. Unfortunately there were lots of tourists walking around and I had a hard time taking wide angle shots without getting other people in them.

6/16/12 9:30am - Visiting the Seal Cove Auto Museum.

Very cool little museum from the Brass Era of cars and motorcycles (1890-1920). A large collection of rare Thomas cars and motorcycles, plus a car with an exhaust-powered music player - I'd never seen anything like that in my life...

Music box powered by exhaust pressure - the first car radio, sort of.

First bike to use the overhead Tank design... every bike has been the same since.

First ever four-cylinder motorcycle, 1912.

Everything leaked in the museum  : )

Cars were much cooler back in the day...the detailing was crazy.

No brakes, no clutch...good luck. Thomas Flyer was an appropriate name.

First car with a radiator...sort of.  1904 Knox.
