5/20/12 Packed up and ready to head home

Everything is packed up, amazingly all fit on the bike (just).

5/19/12 Dinner at Village Bistro

After burning all my daily calories on the Hunter Mountain hike, I had to refuel with a steak and a beer (of course).  Stopped in at the Village Bistro in Tannersville, NY.  A very posh little restaurant on a creek which goes through the middle of town.

No picture of the steak. I was too hungry to stop and take a photo.  Plus, the owner was starting to look at me funny for taking pictures of his food. He probably thought I was a critic or something.

5/19/12 Monster hike, Hunter Mountain Observatory.

Over 2000 foot incline in under 2 miles.  The most difficult hike in the catskills...   ; )
This I chose at complete random on the side of the road..  sign said two miles..  thought to myself..  how bad can it be.    ugh.

5/19/12 Breakfast at Sweet Sues. Tannersville, NY

A very cool restaurant wish odd dishes.  Found this place online while researching the trip, had great reviews.
Phone was completely dead at this point because of frequent logging into my job.  Luckily they let me plug my phone in at the counter, 50% charge in 30 minutes.  Not bad...

Ordered grits with shrimp and a mixture of cheeses topped with eggs over easy...  And hot sauce?
It was surprisingly very good, and that says a lot because I'm not a fan of grits.

After breakfast, I headed down to Woodstock Harley Davidson to install a cigarette lighter/ charger in my solo bag.  Place was huge inside, let me sit on and play with all the bikes...   plus they only charged me $20 for part and install.  That would never happen on long island...

Now I can finally keep my phone charged, plus any other electronic items...  a huge help.

5/18/12 Dinner in Tannersville NY. Pancho Villa Mexican restaurant.

This Mexican restaurant was suggested to me by the Devils Tombstone Campground attendant.

I had high hopes for the food since the place was busy..  but turned out to be very Americanized Mexican, nothing authentic about this place.  They even had a Mexican Burger???

I tried the Chirizo Taquitos..   wasn't that great to be honest.  Service was nice through.

Although while I was eating, I had another emergency at work to fix.  (If only my job knew how often I had to grease the wheels of the company...)

5/18/12 Finally made it to Devils Tombstone Campground. Tent is setup...

Didn't think they were open at first, I was the only person in the campground.  Office attendant stopped by to check my pass, reassured me the campground was open.   I was the only person staying that night.

Also, they had no running water and pit toilets...  (Hardcore ruffing it)
One step above pitching my tent on the side of the road.  : )

Like magic, the tent is up.

Was a little creek about 20 feet behind my campsite.  Water was very low, its seen better days.

5/18/12 Relaxing on the ferry, 45 minutes to Connecticut.

This is much better than driving through NYC.  A nice 45 minute boat trip and $30 saves hours of scary traffic in the City.

5/18/12 Leaving for 3 day weekend in the Catskills

Waiting for the Port Jeff ferry...  One of the boats broke down, so they are running every two hours.  So I basically walked around town for an hour.  Stopped at a local bakery and had an awesome chocolate chip muffin.  (Of course while enjoying my treat, I'm contacted by work and address some email / adjustments to the servers remotely on my phone.)

Usually motorcycles are the first ones on and the first ones off.   ; )

But for some reason they changed this rule  : (
