8/18/12 9:30am Leaving cabin to ride the grand loop around White Mountains

Packed up the bike and headed out to Crawford Notch / Franconia Notch / Kancamagus Highway / Mount Washington Auto Road, a tall order for one day...  Stopped by Mount Washington Hotel to snap some pictures.  Ran into two bikers from Canada (insert stereotypical accent), explained the history of the hotel to them..  lol, me teaching history hard to believe.  After that I continued my ride to find heavy construction on the Crawford Notch road, sucked all the fun out of riding through the mountains.

Packing up for the long day ahead.

Rained overnight, letting the sun dry my bike seat before heading out.

Finally arrived.

Me realizing I'm not dressed warm enough.  Although the beard helps a little.

Mount Washington Hotel, built 1902.

Entering Franconia Notch State Park

Boise Rock, a big boulder with some interesting history.
